*Therapy Animal Training 2026!
We are excited to be able to host on-site therapy animal training at SOUL Harbour Ranch again in 2026.
w/ certified professional dog trainer LuAnne Smith of Loose Leash Academy dog training.
This training is offered at no charge to teams that will commit to volunteering with SOUL Harbour Ranch once registered with Pet Partners.
*Teams cannot belong to any other animal therapy organizations due to insurance purposes
3 SESSIONS:
Saturdays at 2pm at SOUL Harbour Ranch
Session 1: 5/16/26 to 6/20/26
Session 2: 6/27/26 to 8/8/26 (no 7/4 class)
Session 3: 8/15/26 to 9/19/26
The 1st class of each session will be an evaluation to determine eligibility for that session.
The last class will include a visit to a Barrington area retirement facility for dogs deemed ready by trainer.
Animals must be minimum ONE year of age AND have basic obedience skills (sit, down, stay, heel, come).
All animals must be good w/other animals and be comfortable being pet/hugged.
We will prepare teams to understand the skills and aptitude testing necessary to pass the
Pet Partners evaluation and join our SOUL Harbour Ranch Therapy Animal Program. *no guarantee of passing
Teams must be willing to join SOUL Harbour Ranch after passing and commit to visits minimum 2x/month
